What is the EVO effect?
The EVO collection launched in 2020 with the first watch featuring the LM Perpetual EVO, an upgraded version of the award-winning LM Perpetual. The LM Split Escapement EVO and LM Sequential EVO followed in 2022.
The EVO treatment encompasses a series of design and engineering improvements applied to select Legacy Machine models, making them even more suitable for everyday wear and active lifestyles. Key features of the EVO models include 80-meter water resistance, a screw-down crown, an integrated rubber strap, and MB&F's patented FlexRing shock absorber, installed between the case and movement to protect the watch during daily use. To further enhance durability and wear resistance, these models incorporate advanced materials such as zirconium and titanium.
In terms of design, the EVO stands out with its ergonomic case design and integrated bracelet. Furthermore, it eschews a traditional bezel, revealing a display of Super-LumiNova through a domed sapphire crystal. The movement features a dark finish, highlighting its sporty and modern aesthetic.

LM101 EVO 20th Anniversary Edition
To celebrate MB&F's 20th anniversary in 2025, MB&F is releasing two titanium LM101 EVO models with salmon green and malachite green dials. Both dial colors are created using the CVD (Chemical Vapor Deposition) process, chosen for its technological advantages, as the dial is an integral part of the movement. The malachite green version is particularly captivating, with light reflecting off its surface in shifting colors of green, blue, and purple. The salmon green version is also striking, as it is a relatively rare color for MB&F.
Discerning observers will also notice the numerous new details on these EVO editions. Two black subdials float above the dial, now framed by a delicate circular bezel. In the upper right corner, the hours and minutes are clearly legible, indicated by a newly designed white gold hand. The power reserve indicator, located in the lower subdial, showcases a significant improvement: the power reserve of the LM101 EVO movement has been increased from 45 hours to 60 hours, befitting its sportier theme.
The elegant double arches suspending the flying balance wheel remain striking. Milled from a single block of metal, they require hours of hand-polishing to achieve a mirror-like finish. In this EVO edition, they feature a smoother, more refined base, further distinguishing them from the classic LM101 version. The escape wheel has also been subtly redesigned, inspired by a recurring battle-axe motif in MB&F watches.
The Straumann double balance spring and the reliable sliding barrel are hallmarks of the manually wound LM101 EVO movement. The LM101's innovation lies in the innovative, patented FlexRing included in the EVO set. Each watch features a box-shaped sapphire crystal, showcasing the hand-polished dark movement beneath. The undulating Côtes de Genève pattern, hand-polished chamfers, gold chatons, countersunk blued screws, and aesthetically pleasing curved plates and bridges all pay homage to the style of high-quality historic pocket watches and demonstrate respect for heritage.
